    Neck pain

Neck pain is another very common complaint we hear of at Pro Health Chiropractic. Your neck has a particularly important but difficult job of supporting the heavy weight of your head and also allowing it a large range of movement. Neck pain can present suddenly after waking in the morning or it can be more chronic. It is also often associated with headache. The nerves that exit your neck also travel down your arms to your fingers, so sometimes you may experience, shoulder, arm, elbow or hand pain or numbness. Slight postural changes that are associated with sitting at a desk in front of a computer can drastically affect the health of your neck and cause discomfort and pain.

    How Chiropractic can help?

Chiropractic can help with neck pain by correcting misaligned spinal vertebrae (referred to as vertebral subluxation) in the region of the neck and back. This subluxation causes the muscles of the upper shoulder and neck to tighten as well as causing postural changes. Nerves can also be pressured.
Your chiropractor is highly trained in diagnosing and treating these vertebral misalignments or subluxations, using  specific adjustments.
Your chiropractor will also discuss any lifestyle factors which may help you to prevent a relapse of headaches. Sleeping posture, work ergonomics, diet and other factors are important, and will be carefully considered.
